Consultation confirmed

Thank you. Your consultation is booked.

A confirmation email has been sent to the address you used to book. It includes the date and time, the name of the solicitor you will meet, and the full details for your chosen format. Please keep it on hand.

Before the consultation

The next few days.

Most consultations proceed exactly as booked. The two things that happen between now and your scheduled time are a conflict check by reception, and any preparation on your side.

01

We run a conflict check

Within 24 hours of your booking, reception checks the details you provided against the firm’s existing matters. This is procedural. If a conflict is identified, we will cancel the booking and refund the consultation fee in full within five business days. Where possible, we will also recommend other firms who may be able to help with your matter.

02

Reminder emails

You will receive reminder emails seven days before, twenty-four hours before, and (where SMS is enabled) two hours before the consultation. Each will repeat the date, time, and meeting details.

03

The consultation itself

A 60-minute meeting with the senior solicitor you booked, in the format you selected. The solicitor will guide the conversation, but how productive the hour is depends largely on what you bring to it. See below for what helps.

How to prepare

What to bring, or have ready.

You do not need to organise documents into folders or write a formal summary. The solicitor will guide the conversation. But the more we can review together in the hour, the more value you take from it.

  • A short summary of the matter, in your own words, as you understand it
  • Any key documents already in your possession: wills, agreements, court orders, correspondence, valuations, financial statements
  • Names of any other parties involved, so we can confirm there is no conflict before substantive advice begins
  • A list of the three or four questions you most want answered
  • A note of any deadlines or dates that constrain the matter
