A 15-minute phone call to work out whether the firm is right for your matter.
Free, by phone, with a senior solicitor in the relevant practice area. For prospective clients who would rather pick a time than wait for a callback.
What the fit conversation is, and what it isn't.
The fit conversation is a brief phone call between you and a senior solicitor. The purpose is to work out whether the firm is the right place for your matter. It is not the place to ask for legal advice on your situation. That is what the paid initial consultation is for.
- A chance for the solicitor to understand the shape of your matter
- A view on whether the firm is the right fit, or whether you would be better served elsewhere
- An indication of likely costs if you go on to engage us
- A chance for you to ask how the firm works, and decide whether we feel like the right place
- A free legal consultation
- The place to receive substantive advice on your matter
- A briefing on the law as it applies to your circumstances
- A working session on documents you may already have
Pick a 15-minute slot.
Select a senior solicitor and a time that suits. The next available slot is usually within a few business days. You will be asked a small number of questions to help us run a conflict check before the call. Most calls happen on the date you book; if a conflict is identified during the check, we will cancel the booking and let you know.
Between now and the call.
You will receive a confirmation email
With the date, time, and the name of the solicitor who will call you. The call goes to the phone number you provide at booking.
We run a conflict check
Reception checks your details against the firm's existing matters. This is procedural and usually takes a few hours. If a conflict is found, we will cancel the booking and let you know, and recommend other firms who may be able to help.
The senior solicitor calls you
At the scheduled time. The call usually runs the full 15 minutes. If the matter is straightforward and we both agree the firm is a good fit, the solicitor will arrange a paid initial consultation at the end of the call.
If we are the right fit, we book the consultation
A 60-minute consultation with a senior solicitor, where substantive advice on your matter begins. You may meet in person at Riverwood, in the Sydney CBD by appointment, or by phone or video. The fee depends on the practice area and the solicitor; it is shown before you confirm.
If this isn't the right route.
If you have already decided you want substantive legal advice and are ready to pay for an hour of a senior solicitor's time, you can skip the fit conversation and book a paid initial consultation directly.
Book a consultationIf you would prefer to send a written description of your matter and have reception respond, the enquiry form is the right starting point. Reception will respond within one business day.
Make an enquiryIf you cannot wait for the next available booking slot, please call reception directly. We will give you an honest view on whether we can help today and, where we can, will arrange a same-day call.
