An hour with a senior solicitor. Substantive advice from the first meeting.
For clients who have already decided they want a senior solicitor's view on their matter, and would rather pay for substantive advice than spend a fit-check call first.
At a glance.
You will leave with a clear view on the matter.
The consultation is structured around your matter, not ours. We will spend the first part of the hour understanding the situation in detail, the middle part working through the legal position and your options, and the final part on what to do next, including indicative costs if you would like the firm to act for you.
- A senior solicitor's view on your matter, the legal position, and the merits of any claim or defence
- The options open to you, with the trade-offs between them set out clearly
- A strategy recommendation, including what we would advise doing first
- An estimate of likely costs if you would like the firm to act on the matter ongoing
- An assessment of urgency: what needs to happen this week, this month, or can sit
- Answers to the specific questions you bring to the consultation
What to bring, or have ready.
A consultation runs more usefully when you arrive prepared. You do not need to organise documents into folders or write a summary; the solicitor will guide the conversation. But the more we can review together in the hour, the more value you take from it.
Bring (or have ready, if the consultation is by phone or video):
- A short summary of the matter, in your own words, as you understand it
- Any key documents already in your possession: wills, agreements, court orders, correspondence, valuations, financial statements
- Names of any other parties involved (other spouse, executors, beneficiaries, co-owners), so we can confirm there is no conflict before substantive advice is given
- A list of the three or four questions you most want answered
- A note of any deadlines or dates that constrain the matter
You will be asked some of this during booking. Anything you have not provided at booking can be brought to the consultation itself.
Choose a practice area, a solicitor, and a time.
You will be asked a small number of questions for the conflict check, and to pay the consultation fee. You will receive a confirmation email immediately, with everything you need before the consultation.
Other ways to reach us.
The fit conversation is a free 15-minute phone call with a senior solicitor to work out whether the firm is the right place for your matter. Most clients who use this route then book a paid consultation.
Book a fit conversationIf you would prefer to send a written description of your matter and have reception respond, the enquiry form is the right starting point. Reception will respond within one business day.
Make an enquiryThe 48-hour minimum lead time exists so we can complete a conflict check before substantive advice begins. If your matter cannot wait, please call reception directly and we will give you an honest view on whether we can help today.
